Job Description

The Accountant II will play an integral role on the ATSS Program Management Office, providing data and operational support to the leadership team. The successful candidate will apply their knowledge of accounting principles to activities associated with processing expenses, accounts payable functions, and preparing reports. The ability to gather and analyze information from the general ledger systems and the divisions will lead to success in this position.

A successful Accountant II will be able to ensure compliance with Government contracting regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and assist employees with various accounting and payroll needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Processes accounts payable vouchers.
* Enters account payable in Costpoint which involves voucher creation and system entry.
* Completes a weekly check and ACH process to pay vendors.
* Reconcile the monthly corporate credit card statements for the ATSS contract.
* Process bi-weekly cost voucher and billing in Costpoint and submit to Government financial system.
* Review, approve and log new Purchase Requisitions.
* Audit weekly payroll reports for labor processing.
* Coordinate with employees and managers on timesheet corrections, issues, and completions.
* Process employee expensive reports for reimbursements.
* Serves as the backup Travel Coordinator, processing travel orders, monitoring for approval, and communicating with employees, managers, and the COR.
* Assist employees with various questions and concerns.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or another related field preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of successful experience in accounting to include accounts payable, job costing, general ledger, reconciliation, billing, and report generation.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in government contract accounting.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority.
* Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution.
* Advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

* Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is desirable.
* Familiarity with Box is desirable.
* Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) is desirable.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

* The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment.
* Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time.

Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid driver’s license, without special restrictions.
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening periodic retest.
* Must be able to successfully complete a background screening.
* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.

Rate of Pay/Benefits

Annual Salary: $70,000 - $80,000, DOE
