Job Description


Performs a variety of accounting functions in support of a NASA government contracting Program Management Office to include accounts payable, payroll and billing in Deltek CostPoint, weekly ORACLE Advance Material Management System (AMMS) Adjusting Journal Entry (AJE), monthly 533 preparation, and Cost Pool management.


Duties and Responsibilities


*Prepares and enters accounts payable vouchers in Costpoint

*Process weekly check run for payable vouchers in Costpoint

*Reconcile the monthly corporate credit card statements for the TRAX program management office at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC)

*Prepare the TRAX monthly 533 Cost Report for the NASA Customer

*Process bi-weekly cost voucher and billing in Costpoint and submit to the IPP government financial system

*Review, approve and log new Purchase Requisitions

*Process the weekly AMMS adjusted journal voucher into Costpoint

*Audit weekly payroll reports for labor processing

*Manage the ILMD (Information Logistics Management Division) Cost Pool using the NASA SAP Financial System and GSFC Funding management tools, Funds Control (FCS2) and Reimbursable Budget Tool (RBET); to include processing daily program funding transfers, report analysis and AMMS daily reconciliation.

*Provide customer assistance to research and resolve funding issues

*Review financial reports (outstanding/expiring customer orders) and resolve any discrepancies with the appropriate office

*Educate the resource community on ILMD Cost Pool functionality and tools available to manage project funding

*Collaborate with various departments to audit and create processes and procedures related to funding management

*Coordinate with the GSFC OCFO for year-end activities to include but not limited to; systems shut down schedule and Center wide presentation for the ILMD Cost Pool policies and practices


Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications


*Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or another related field is required. 

*4+ years of successful experience in accounting to include accounts payable, job costing, general ledger, reconciliation, billing, and report generation.

*Experience with Deltek Cost Point and ORACLE software preferred, but not required.

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills

*Highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

*Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority

*Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution

*Proficient skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications

*Advanced skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Excel application

*The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment

*Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

*Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
