Job Description

The Scientific Technician I is an entry level position. This position will expose the incumbent to testing and observations. Will be required to take direction from senior staff and show appropriate attention to detail to maintain safe working conditions and capture data during testing. Have good observation and note taking skills and have the ability to convert notes into formal observations and test incident reports. Ability to set up and maintain data collection data base and provide scientist and other senior staff with overall test related documentation support as tasked. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED equivalent
*
Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment
* Good writing, science and mathematics skills are a definite plus but not required
* Position will expose the incumbent to testing and observations
* Ability to take direction from senior staff and show appropriate attention to detail to maintain safe working conditions and capture data during testing
* Have good observation and note taking skills and have the ability to convert notes into formal observations and test incident reports
* Ability to set up and maintain data collection data base and provide scientist and other senior staff with overall test related documentation support as tasked

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

* The work of this position may be performed in an environmentally controlled office environment or in the outdoors of the test center
* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
* Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted

Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
* In compliance with the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force pursuant to the Executive Order 14042, employees working on a covered contract must have received all required vaccination dose(s) before your first day of work, or seek an exemption from vaccination as provided by law, such as an approved religious or medical/disability accommodation. Newly hired personnel must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (this requirement is on hold at this time)
