The upkeep of USPS NCED facility gardens, lawn, pond and all surrounding grounds.
Duties and Responsibilities
Cut grass, using walking-type or riding mowers
Trim hedges and edge around walks and flower beds using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools.
Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools.
Make adjustments, repairs, additions, etc. to the turf, flowerbeds, and computerized irrigation system.
Plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
Water lawn and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activation water sprinkler system.
Pick and dispose of leaves, paper and other litter.
Remove snow or ice from walks, driveways, roads or parking lots.
Composts or bags lawn waste.
Performs other grounds-related duties, as required.
Ensure compliance with Company Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct and Business Conduct Program.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
Must be “down-time” effectively to the benefit of the company.
Must be well-mannered customer service attitude.
Must be able to operate lawn care equipment including, but not limited to, tractor, weed eater, edger, hedge trimmer, push, and ride on mower, etc.
Must be punctual, responsible and dependable.
Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.
Must be able to work as part of a team, fostering teamwork in a dynamic environment.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal protective Equipment (PPR) for work task assigned.
Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOP’s for General Support Service.
Must be able to assist with varied kinds of work including, but not limited to pouring concrete, snow removal, assembling modular furniture and changing light bulbs.
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
Must be able to ascend and descent equipment, including but not limited to, ladders, scaffolds, lifts, etc.
Must be capable of standing and walking for long periods of time.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Relevance of experience to be determined by hiring manager.
