Job Description

SUMMARY:  

Provides technical assistance to the Import/Export Control Lead and Office of Center Export Administrator for all import/export and trade compliance matters pertaining to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). In this role, the incumbent will participate in strategical activities and initiatives to ensure NASA Import Export Compliance Program objective are effectively and efficiently managed and followed across centers in ensuring the agency adherence with all U.S. export control laws and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   


Review shipping documents to ensure complete compliance with US Customs and other governmental agencies regulations.

Ensure that all mandatory fields in the shipping documents are completed and accurate.

Classify items for Import and Export

Create and maintain shipment files.

Provide technical assistance to the Import/Export Control Lead and Office of Center Export Administrator in all import/export and trade compliance matters pertaining to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:  


  • Licensed Customs Broker or desire to become LCB in the next 6 months
  • Strong Classification skills: ECCN, HTS, and Schedule B
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with ACE, SNAP-R, and DTRADE
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Able to receive Secret clearance

 

 EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience with EAR, ITAR, OFAC, BATFE, Customs regulations, and Foreign Trade Regulations.

 

EDUCATION:  

Bachelor’s Degree required. Experience and formal training may be substituted for education requirement.
