Transducer Shop Supervisor

Job Description


The Supervisor is responsible for the operations and supervision of the Ballistics Pressure Transducers machine shop. The supervisor ensures customer service excellence, meets milestone and deliverable reporting requirements, manages property, and ensures timely equipment maintenance. The supervisor is responsible for meeting with customers, identifying requirements, and obtaining the necessary materials and resources to complete the mission. Supervisor will also ensure compliance by updating section documentation (SOPs), managing the digital drawing and schematic library, ensuring personnel safety and security, timekeeping, personnel and equipment training, calibration, maintenance logs, licenses, and administering personnel actions. The supervisor ensures the section follows all established governmental regulations, organizational guidelines, company policies and procedures when performing job responsibilities. Performs other duties as required to meet requirements established in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Qualifications

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience-Requirements:

• Bachelors of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited school OR Associates Degree with 8 years related experience OR 10 years equivalent related experience.
• A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a leadership role.
• Requires in-depth experience and broad working knowledge/skills in customer relations and understanding of customer service techniques.

Physical Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
• Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be capable of frequent bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, and stooping, sometimes for long periods of time
• Must be tolerant of heights as some work may require climbing communication towers and the use of bucket trucks.

Job Requirements:


• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
• Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
• Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.
• Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.
• Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.
• Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.
• Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.
• Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.
• Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy.
• Must be able to deliver quality products to the customer and be responsive to their needs.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

• Knowledge of YPG Ranges
• Knowledge and experience with DOD Testing
• Knowledge and experience with piezo electric transducers
• Knowledge of internal ballistic pressures

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and not hold multiple citizenships.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
• Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
