Job Description

Assumes responsibility for necessary acquisitions in their area. Reviews documentation submitted by other Materials Management Specialists ensuring completeness, compliance and accuracy. Researches and completes complex acquisition requests in a timely manner for greater than $10,000. Accurately and timely receives, records, and delivers incoming shipments and ships out orders and returns. Acquires and records information regarding the status of supply transactions. Performs duties and responsibilities associated with storage areas and inventory system. Performs and trains others to receive, issue, label, maintains approved supply levels and shelving of supplies.  Follows established governmental regulations, organizational guidelines, company policies and procedures when performing job responsibilities. Performs duties and responsibilities associated with property control. When applicable, monitors and ensures Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) compliance. Generates and routes purchase request documents to meet compliance requirements for procurement. Updates and maintains databases for work orders, inventory control. Uses specialized software to generate purchase requests and professionally coordinates with required approvers.  Guides and directs junior Material Management personnel. Performs quality control for acquisition activities and functions. Updates and maintains section SOP recommending editions, updates and/or changes. Executes purchases with a company credit card for the purpose of processing orders up to $2500.00. Reconciles credit card statements; identifies and corrects discrepancies.  Coaches and mentors junior materials management in proper procedures in performing their assigned duties. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Rate of Pay: $30.84

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must obtain and maintain required certifications.
Must have at least 5 years in Materials Management Specialist IV or equivalent experience.

Job Skill Requirements:

Must be proficient with Windows and MS Office Word and Excel.
Must have demonstrated data entry experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. unassisted.
Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs.

Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions 

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Must be proficient with specialized software applications.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and not hold multiple citizenships.
Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
