Job Description

Assists with the fabrication of targets, mock villages, and test fixtures using products commonly used in the construction trades for the purpose of supporting military hardware testing and training operations.  Assists in the setup of target systems, target arrays, and mock training sites under the direction of senior section personnel.  Operates electric and pneumatic tools (nailers, staplers, table saws, skill saws, drills, and material handling equipment) in a limited capacity determined by experience and proper training.  Supplies senior personnel with the correct products and equipment with minimal supervision.  Assists with the fabrication processes and supplies senior personnel the correct products and equipment.  Follows direction of senior section personnel in the performance of daily tasks.  Works as part of a team and performs daily functions as part of a crew with guidance and direction from senior section personnel.  Assists with site cleanup and debris removal from test sites and operational areas for safety and aesthetics.  Communicates directly with fellow employees for fabrication processes.  Understands and follows all safety guidelines as defined in current SOPs, regulations, and policies.  Assists with the operation and repair of all direct fire target systems currently used in the section.  Completes entries into daily work order logs.  Navigates the Kofa and Cibola ranges in accordance with P-1000 and applicable range SOPs.  Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Pay Rate: $19.78

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be forklift certified.
Must have 2 years of labor experience in the construction trades field with 1 year directly related to direct fire target systems setup and operations, target fabrication, and training site fabrication OR Class A CDL with 5 years of experience delivering equipment up to but not exceeding 65,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight and 2 years of experience on all YPG ranges.

Job Skills Requirements: 

Must be detail-oriented. 
Must be able to assist crew with the setup and operations of standard target systems with minimal supervision. 
Must be able to operate in a limited capacity (training dependent) electric and pneumatic tools used in the construction trades field.
Must be able to understand and follow all TRAX SOPs, P-1000, and any applicable range SOPs.
Must be able to maintain own tools to the minimum required by the company.

Physical Requirements:

Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for General Support Service.
Must be capable of lifting 100 lbs. chest high unassisted repeatedly during the duty day.
Must be able to lift and transport 100 lbs. unassisted over uneven ground for 50 ft.
Must be able to ascend and descend equipment
Must be tolerant of frequent weapons systems firings.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Possess a Class A CDL.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and not hold multiple citizenships.
Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
