Job Description

The Accountant will play an integral role on the Corporate Finance Team, providing data and operational support to the leadership team. The successful candidate will apply their knowledge of accounting principles to activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and preparing consolidated financial statements and reports. The ability to gather and analyze information from the general ledger systems and the divisions will lead to success in this position. The triumphant Accountant will be able to ensure compliance with Government contracting regulations and assist with foreign corporations’ financial and tax records and banking requirements.  Experience in the comprehension of indirect cost pools, bid multiplier rate analysis, etc. will ensure success in this position.




Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing, modifying and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes, as needed

  • Coordinate with foreign offices for accounting records

  • Interface with the Accounting Manager and other accounting staff on a daily basis

  • Research and interpret data to answer accounting and financial questions

  • Assist internal and external audit process, as required

  • Able to apply knowledge of GAAP

  • Perform general ledger and variance analysis

  • Prepare documentation for DCAA, bank and financial audits

  • Research and reconcile discrepancies

  • Audit and verify documents in general ledger and sub-ledgers

  • Assist in month-end close

  • Prepare schedules for quarterly reviews and year-end audit for external auditors

  • Support accounting revenue tracking, reporting and billing and other measures identified

  • Perform filing duties for the position

  • Use software to prepare financials and project reports

  • Performs other job related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting,  Finance or related area

  • 5+ years of successful experience in General Accounting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience in government contract accounting

  • Experience in DCAA auditing requirement and process

  • Highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Be comfortable with advanced functions of Excel – including v-lookups, pivot tables, and running macros

  • Ability to navigate through a professional services or government contracting ERP systems

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority

  • Advanced skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office

  • Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), including Company Disclosure Statement (DS)

  • Extensive ERP experience; familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is a plus

  • Database experience; familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint is desirable

  • Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution
