Job Description
TRAX International (TRAX) is preparing a proposal for future performance of the U.S. Army Evaluation Center (AEC) Support Services (AECSS) for Readiness and Analytics and Training and Professional Development contract in Aberdeen, MD. TRAX is a large business that has supported the Department of Defense since 1979 and currently performs services for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ; Fort Hood TX; Ft Greely, AK; and in the Republic of Panama. The Modeling and Simulation III role will play an integral part on the on the TRAX team, providing support to the team. The successful candidate will apply their knowledge of modeling and simulation (M&S) activities designed to strategically provide support of assigned systems.  The ability to lead and coach others in understanding M&S will lead to success in this position. The Modeling and Simulation III professional will be able to ensure compliance with Government contracting regulations and assist with consolidating reports for the COR.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • May serve as a working leader responsible for leading and providing technical advice and direction to lower graded personnel.
  • Duties may include, but are not limited to, monitoring work; ensuring product quality, accuracy, and timeliness; consolidating reports for COR regarding status updates and billing; and reviewing collected data for completeness, accuracy, and validity.
  • Coordinates with others to assure all safety, security, environmental, and community concerns are adequately addressed.
  • Performs a variety of routine technical tasks designed to provide experience and familiarization with modeling and simulation to include developing and implementing M&S strategies and tools - executes analytical strategies in support of assigned systems; provides input to contractor/customer test plans to be used for evaluations; develops strategies necessary to resolve varied and unique customer requirements and conflicting system requirements; and supports development of test and evaluation strategies to satisfy program requirements.
  • Estimates costs needed for M&S support.
  • Provides expertise through the conduct of a broad range of M&S analyses in support of the Test and Evaluation of material military acquisitions for a wide range of systems.
  • Designs M&S strategies to support evaluation of assigned systems; reviews evaluation products for assigned systems; and conducts research of new and existing M&S tools in support of system evaluations.
  • Provides input to policies and processes for M&S use in evaluations.
  • Compares multiple data sets using robust statistical techniques and identifies modeling and simulation strategies for inclusion in system evaluation plans.
  • Supports the Accreditation Action Officer as it relates to planning and evaluation.
  • summarizes validation and verification analyses in support of accreditation acceptability criteria.
  • Applicable guidelines for this function include Army Regulation and Pamphlet 5-11 and ATEC Regulation and Pamphlet 73-21
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or closely related technical discipline, plus ten years of experience with progressively increasing support responsibility.
  • Secret security clearance is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority.
  • Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment or in the outdoors of the proving ground.
  • Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
