Job Description
TRAX International (TRAX) is preparing a proposal for future performance of the U.S. Army Evaluation Center (AEC) Support Services (AECSS) for Readiness and Analytics and Training and Professional Development contract in Aberdeen, MD. TRAX is a large business that has supported the Department of Defense since 1979 and currently performs services for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ; Fort Hood TX; Ft Greely, AK; and in the Republic of Panama. All positions are full-time and have generous health care, 401(k) and vacation benefits. Salaries are negotiable based on specific experience and proven performance. 

The Scientist Engineer III will play an integral role on the TRAX team, providing data and operational support to the leadership team. The successful candidate will be forward thinking and apply their knowledge of technological/cutting edge breakthroughs into current efforts when applicable. The ability to gather and analyze information will lead to success in this position. The successful Scientist Engineer III will be able to ensure compliance with Government contracting regulations.  Experience in providing independent and professional support on portions of complex projects will ensure success in this position.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities

  • May serve as a working leader responsible for leading and providing technical advice and direction to lower graded personnel.
  • Duties may include, but are not limited to, monitoring work; ensuring product quality, accuracy, and timeliness; consolidating reports for COR regarding status updates and billing; and reviewing collected data for completeness, accuracy, and validity.
  • Coordinates with others to assure all safety, security, environmental, and community concerns are adequately addressed.
  • Undertake and resolve difficult and highly complex technical projects through research, analysis, and the application of judgment developed from previous experiences.
  • Provides technical insight for addressing problems that are difficult to define, require unconventional or novel approaches, and require sophisticated analytical techniques.
  • Remains abreast of changes in the subject matter area and introduces technological/cutting edge breakthroughs into current efforts when applicable.
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Provides independent and professional support on portions of complex projects.
  • Specific assignment objectives, approaches, and possible solutions are reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
  • Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: independently performs a project assignment that involves complex features and can be guided by codes, standards, and other precedents of the discipline; analyzes and/or evaluates the results of an analysis using techniques prescribed by senior engineers or supervisors; and accomplishes tasks of which require investigation of a many variables.
  • Must personally observe test events as required and monitors performance of the test item and adequacy of data collection.
  • Reviews the data collected for completeness, accuracy, and validity.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in specialization or related scientific discipline and fifteen years applicable experience; or a Master’s Degree in specialization or related scientific discipline and five years applicable experience.
  • Secret security clearance is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority.
  • Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment or in the outdoors of the proving ground.
  • Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
